The Right Software For The Job

Whether you're doing the work yourself or contracting with a vendor, it's always a good idea to be familiar with and have a copy of editing software. If the need arises it will allow you to make quick and easy edits that can save you a lot of time and potentially money.

You can use the pen tool to slightly adjust an angle with the click of the button, or quickly adjust the size and proportion of your image with a quick slide of the mouse. If you need to increase density or add some stabilizing underlay to your embroidery file, it's as easy as clicking, typing and sending it to your machine. No waiting, no halting production, just quick easy fixes at your finger tips.

When you place an order with us we always ask what file format you need. This format should be associated with your available software and version you have or the one used by your vendor.

Requesting the proper file to match your software can also assist you in proofing of files prior to production.

Where can I get the right Software?

Below are links to our Top Recommendations. These are the industry standards in vector graphics and embroidery digitizing. You will be able to find support and education from the suppliers, they all have an active online community for support as well.

Tackle Twill: Go Big With Less Stitches

An easy way to save stitches on popular athletic styles

Tackle Twill can be a great addition to any embroidery shop's playbook. These designs will allow you to produce large filled areas that would normally take tens of thousands of stitches to accomplish with just a few zig-zag stitches around cut layered twill material.

Something to take into consideration when deciding to go the Tackle Twill (also know as Applique) route with a design is how big is the customer wanting to make the design? For example if your customer is looking for a large business or team name to go across the front of a hooded sweatshirt how long will it take on the
machines to accomplish this task?

You can request files for Tackle Twill right from the standard embroidery order or quote pages. You will find a check box right above the order notes section for Tackle Twill.

In this section you can let us know what parts of the design need to be in twill and what needs to be stitching Using our Wolves as an example this would be a request for a two color file, using 2 pieces of twill material to achieve the look. On a request similar to this all you would need to do is let us know that the file needs to be created for 2 color, and the type of stitching you’d like. You can choose either; Zig-Zag, Run Stitches, or Satin Stitches to sew the material down with.

You can even request this as a one color design, where the blue fill would be twill and the black border would be a satin stitch.

There are different methods for creating the fabric pieces for your layouts, such as hand cutting, but IOLINE has a quicker solution for running production on a bigger scale with their 300 systems.
